Meet Wildernesses

Wildernesses are Phillip Morris (vocals / lyrics / guitars), Ryan Brown (drums / vocals), Mark Portnoi (bass guitars) and Sam Howe (lead guitars) - formed from previous projects We Never Learned to Live, Earth Moves and Late Night Fiction. The quartet are signed to Joe Clayton of post-rock / metal giants Pijn’s Manchester label, Floodlit Recordings and are represented by Hold Tight PR.

The band layer post/gaze instrumentation with melodic hooks, poetic lyrics and soulful vocal delivery. They love dynamic and presenting a juxtaposition of the bleak and the beautiful.

Debuting in May 2025, they released their first single, Four Hour Drive to press acclaim. The band worked with videographer, Stewart Baxter, (IDLES, Chartreuse, LIFE) to record visuals for their second single, English Darkness, and were playlisted on BBC Introducing, Total Rock Radio and DKFM Shoegaze Radio, USA.

Wildernesses quickly established their live performance, and have shared bills with ‘gaze’ and ‘post’ bands such as Humour, A Burial at Sea, Indifferent Engine, Pleiades, The Grey, Million Moons and Deathbloom - playing their first headline show at the O2 Academy Islington. The band recently played The Lexington, AKARI Festival and a Celestial Diadem Festival weekender to finish up the year.

Debut Album, Growth, is released on 27th March 2026. The release will be accompanied by a UK tour and album release party at Folklore, Hoxton (London).
